About Cheyenne Raney

I have been creating art for as long as I can remember, in fact I can’t imagine myself not creating art.

As a kid growing up in Iowa, I was always inspired to draw and paint as a way to process the world around me. This creativity and passion stuck with me through high school when I finally made the leap to attend art school at the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD). Supported by my amazing family and friends, I found my voice as an artist and activist at SCAD and went on to attend a masters program at Drexel University in Philadelphia. During my time in Philadelphia, I met so many inspiring and creative people, gaining a new perspective on my identity as an artist and a citizen of the world.

With this new found perspective, I aim to create work that brings people joy and provides momentary relief from the somberness of the “real world”. I love using bold colors and ornate details to tell a story through my work.

Now living in Charlotte, North Carolina, I spend my free time hiking, bird watching and spending time with my three cats. Animals and nature have always been a huge inspiration in my work and I love to surround myself with these things when possible.
